What's a Wizzywig?

Wizzywig (WYSIWYG) means What You See Is What You Get! What you want to see in Japanese animation is what you get when you make a purchase at Wizzywig Collectibles!

Where is Wizzywig?

First, a little history:
In 1995, we opened our first web site, offering the convenience of shopping at home through a secure site. We began with a vision, wanting to offer a huge and thorough selection of Japanese anime items at great prices. The online store, (on its third major renovation), continues to thrive and we now offer tens of thousands of items. We provide an enormous selection of anime DVDs and CDs, JPOP and video game CDs, Japanese publications, wall scrolls, pencil boards, trading cards, apparel, and even Japanese snacks. There are a few other items as well such as plush dolls, action figures, key chains, pins, badges, trading figures, mascots, cell phone straps, capsule figures, mecha models, Japanese radio-controlled cars, stationary sets, sticker sets, glassware, patches, clocks, handbags, rugs, pens, pencils, pencil cases, wind-chimes, hairpins, memo pads, models, lunch boxes, and ... *WHEW*! As we said, what you see is what you get!

In 1998, we opened our first retail store in Ann Arbor, Michigan, located in the heart of the University of Michigan campus. We wanted to offer a place where fans could marvel at unique Japanese products, where they could shop and touch items, as if in Japan. We also wanted to offer a large and thorough rental section of US released anime. We learned our dream was shared, then enjoyed, by many, and in just a few years we had outgrown the petite upstairs location. Merchandise was bursting from every corner! We discovered that we were a destination store for midwest anime fans, attracting regular customers from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. On occasion, we even get a few "out of towners" from places like Florida, and even Tornto,Canada!

In 2000, we hit the convention trail. We now regularly attend anime and comic conventions across the US. You can enjoy our products as we bring Wizzywig Collectibles on the road to a town near you! Our current convention schedule can be found HERE.

On May 18th, 2002, we relocated our store to a larger main floor level location near by.

On May 6th, 2007 we relocated our store again to an easy access location with free parking, just south of downtown Ann Arbor.
It's easy to find, just a few minutes south of I-94 of off the State Street exit, just past the Ann Arbor Airport.

Who is Wizzy and Wig?

You might be wondering about those two adorable characters that are on our site. They're our mascots, Wizzy (the cat girl) and Wig (the raccoon)! We hope you find them as enjoyable as we do. Jeff B. and Jo Ann F. created the mascot artwork for Wizzywig.
